Article 1 (Purpose)
These terms set out the rights, duties and responsibilities of routefly (the "Operator") and users when using the routefly web and Android app service (the "Service"), and other necessary matters.
Article 2 (Definitions)
- User: a person who uses the Service under these terms (including a person who has a program or robot access it). There is no sign-up or login.
- Leader: the chief leader who created a hiking club room and assistant leaders who joined with the leader code given by the chief leader.
- Member: a person who joined a hiking club room with a room code or join link and agreed to share location.
- Company office: where a guided hiking club, travel agency etc. sees several hiking club rooms on one screen. It is entered with an office link (secret key), and leaders link rooms with a company code.
- Posts: text and data a user writes or uploads to the Service (Feedback messages, room names and notices, booking lists, company names etc.).
Article 3 (Posting and amendment)
- The Operator posts these terms on this screen and makes them reachable from the Service's home and information screens.
- The Operator may amend the terms within the limits of relevant laws such as the Act on the Regulation of Terms and Conditions. It announces the changes, effective date and reason on this screen from 7 days before they take effect (30 days if unfavorable to users). Because the Operator does not collect users' contact details, it posts notices on screen instead of notifying individually.
- If you do not agree with the amended terms, you can stop using the Service. Continuing to use it after the effective date is treated as agreeing to the amended terms.
Article 4 (Other rules)
Matters not set out in these terms follow the Location-Based Service Terms and Privacy Policy, and relevant laws and commercial practice such as the Location Information Act, Personal Information Protection Act, Information and Communications Network Act, E-Commerce Act and Act on the Regulation of Terms and Conditions.
Article 5 (Formation of the agreement)
- As there is no sign-up, the agreement is formed when a user starts using the Service while these terms are available to view.
- Joining a hiking club room requires separate consent to share location (Location-Based Service Terms). Children under 14 cannot join hiking club rooms.
Article 6 (Service and fees)
- 3D course preview, hike (my location, course guidance, SOS screen, records), 100 famous mountains and course introductions (weather, air quality, recommended products), national parks and stamps, Tools, games, Daily check-in
- Hiking club rooms (seat and boarding checks, leaders checking member locations and SOS) and company offices (several rooms on one screen, downloading finished hikes as a spreadsheet)
- Fee: the whole Service is free. Data charges follow your carrier's plan. If paid services are introduced in the future, fees and content will be announced in advance, and fees will be charged only when a user applies separately.
Article 7 (Managing codes and links)
- Instead of IDs and passwords, the Service uses room codes, leader codes, company codes and office links. The person who receives them is responsible for managing them.
- An office link is like a password. Share it only within your company and do not post it where others can see it, such as group chats. If it may have leaked, use "Change office link" in the company office; leader codes can be changed on the room screen.
- The Operator does not keep office links separately, so a lost link cannot be recovered.
Article 8 (Operator's duties)
- The Operator does not do what laws and these terms prohibit, and makes efforts to provide the Service continuously and stably.
- The Operator protects users' personal and location information under the Privacy Policy and Location-Based Service Terms.
- If a user's opinion or complaint is justified, the Operator handles it without delay and reports the result by reply email (if given) or on screen.
Article 9 (User's duties)
Users must not:
- secretly join with another person's phone to see the location of someone who did not agree, impersonate others, or create false hiking club rooms or company offices
- use or spread another person's company code, office link or leader code without permission, or try codes one by one
- use automated collection programs (crawlers, scrapers etc.) to take courses, mountain information or map data in bulk, or put an excessive load on the server (ordinary collection by search engines is allowed within robots.txt)
- bypass the Service's security measures or interfere with its operation
- post anything illegal or harmful to others' rights or reputation, or obscene or advertising posts
Article 10 (Hiking club rooms and company offices)
- Leaders create and run hiking club rooms, and companies create and run their company offices themselves. Leaders and companies are responsible for informing members about joining rooms and sharing location, and for managing the list correctly.
- A company office sees member locations only after it approves a room linked with its company code. If a room is not the company's, it must not approve it and should remove it.
- Running the hike, bus transport, participation fees etc. are matters between the hiking club or company and the members; the Operator is not a party to those contracts.
- Leaders and companies must not use members' locations, names or contacts learned through the Service for any purpose other than checking hiking safety, nor give them to others.
Article 11 (Changes and suspension)
- The Operator may add to or change the Service and announces important changes on this screen or the Service screens.
- The Operator may suspend all or part of the Service for server maintenance, failures or network problems, natural disasters or national emergencies, or circumstances making the business hard to continue. It announces this in advance when possible, otherwise right after suspending.
- If data from outside agencies such as weather, air quality or maps is interrupted, that part may be temporarily unavailable.
Article 12 (Information, ads and affiliate links)
- Google AdSense ads may appear on mountain and course introduction pages (not on the hike or hiking club room screens, nor in the app).
- Some links, such as gear and lodging, are affiliate links (Coupang Partners, lodging booking sites). The Operator earns a commission when you buy or book through them, and this is noted next to the link. The price you pay is the same.
- Buying and booking on ad or affiliate sites are transactions between the user and that seller; the Operator is not a party to them.
Article 13 (Managing posts)
- The person who posts is responsible for the post.
- If the Operator receives a report or learns that a post violates laws or these terms (Article 9) or harms others' rights, it may delete or hide it without prior notice.
- Retention periods for posts follow the Privacy Policy (e.g. Feedback messages 1 year; hiking club room lists and locations are deleted when the room ends, leaving only a numeric summary for the company office).
Article 14 (Copyright)
- Rights to the Service screens, programs, and text and images made by the Operator belong to the Operator.
- Rights to outside data such as maps, courses and weather belong to their sources; sources and terms of use are listed in Data sources and terms of use (e.g. © OpenStreetMap contributors, ODbL).
- Users must not copy, distribute or sell information obtained through the Service or use it in other services without the Operator's permission (personal hike preparation and sharing are fine).
- Rights to posts belong to the person who posted them. The Operator uses them only as needed to run the Service (showing and storing).
Article 15 (Restrictions on use)
If a user violates Article 9, the Operator may block that access, or suspend or delete the use of hiking club rooms and company offices. It notifies in advance when not urgent, and when urgent (e.g. related to other users' location and safety or server failures) blocks first and notifies later on screen or by reply. Users who object to a restriction can say so through Feedback, and if justified it is lifted immediately.
Article 16 (Limitation of liability)
- Courses, mountain heights, weather, air quality, route guidance and travel times are for reference only. They may differ from actual trails, weather and closures, so users must decide on hikes and their safety themselves based on the conditions on site and official notices (safety information).
- GPS errors, network interruptions, phone battery or settings may delay or prevent locations, SOS and alerts. Location sharing in hiking club rooms and the SOS screen do not replace a 119 call. In an emergency, call 119 right away.
- The Operator is not liable for damage caused by reasons without its intent or negligence, such as natural disasters, the user's fault, or errors or interruptions of outside agencies' data. However, this does not apply to damage caused by the Operator's intent or gross negligence.
- The Operator does not take part in disputes between users, or between users and hiking clubs, companies or affiliate sellers, and is not liable for damage arising from them (unless the Operator was at fault).
Article 17 (User's liability for damage)
- If a user violates Article 9 or 14 (bulk collection with automated programs, excessive server load, bypassing security, unauthorized copying or selling etc.) and causes damage to the Operator, the user must compensate for that damage. Damage includes increased server and network costs, costs of recovering from and preventing failures, and damage from the unauthorized use of data.
- The user does not have to compensate if they prove there was no intent or negligence.
- This article applies from November 29, 2026 (as an unfavorable change, announced 30 days in advance under Article 3). Liability under the Civil Act and other relevant laws for earlier acts remains.
- Separately from these terms, liability may be claimed under the Civil Act, Unfair Competition Prevention Act, Copyright Act and Information and Communications Network Act.
Article 18 (Personal and location information)
Personal information follows the Privacy Policy, and location information the Location-Based Service Terms. routefly does not use login cookies (for cookies of ads on mountain and course pages, see section 10 of the Privacy Policy), and the hike location is never sent to the server except when you join a hiking club room.
Article 19 (Disputes, jurisdiction and governing law)
- Please first report complaints and disputes through 📮 Feedback or the contact in Article 4 of the Location-Based Service Terms. The Operator handles them without delay.
- If not resolved, you can apply for mediation to the Korea Consumer Agency (1372), the Personal Information Dispute Mediation Committee (1833-6972) etc.
- Lawsuits between the Operator and users follow the laws of the Republic of Korea and are filed with the competent court under the Civil Procedure Act.
Addendum
These terms take effect on October 29, 2026.
